Point Loma is located about 7 to 10 miles from downtown San Diego with a lot to do including beaches, water sports, playgrounds, and shopping. It features a long peninsula that hooks over the entrance to San Diego Bay. A gentle ridge about 50 feet high runs down the middle for most if its length. East of the ridge line many there are many homes with views of the bay. West of it, the homes have views of the Pacific. Point Loma is more oriented toward home ownership.
At the southern tip of Point Loma, the Cabrillo National Monument and the Old Point Loma Lighthouse are among the best places to get a full view of San Diego Skyline and the bay area.
